Lessons that fit in a coffee break
A complete beginner course built around the situations a traveller really meets, with native-speed and slow audio for every phrase and a plan that counts down to your departure date.
Learn by doing
Twelve kinds of exercise: listen and pick, build the sentence from tiles, type it, say it out loud, match pairs and play your part in a dialogue. Accents and small typos are forgiven, and every mistake explains itself.
- ¿Me trae la carta, por favor? Could you bring me the menu?
- ¿Tiene una mesa libre? Do you have a free table?
- ¿Cuánto es? How much is it?
Planned around your trip
Tell Vamos when you fly and it paces the course to get you there, with a fast track if time is short and a travel mode once you arrive. Spaced repetition brings back what you're about to forget.
Streaks, XP, badges and a certificate keep you going. A Phrasebook with "Show to a local" puts the Spanish on screen in big letters when words fail you.
Flashcards, hands-free too
Decks build themselves from what you've learnt: due today, favourites, weak spots, phrases saved on tours, one per topic. Tap to flip, then Again, Almost or Knew it.
Hands-free mode plays the Spanish, pauses for you to answer in your head, then says the meaning. It keeps going with the screen locked, so you can practise on the walk to the airport.
In the language you speak
Learn Spanish from English, German or French. Switch at any time without losing progress. Even the pronunciation tips are written for your own language's sounds, and you'll learn to say ¿Habla inglés? or ¿Habla alemán? as fits.

Walking tours for when you land
Twelve guided walks through nine Spanish cities. Vamos tells you the story of each sight in your language, teaches you the Spanish you'll hear there, and notices when you've arrived at the next stop.
Every stop is a little lesson
Stand under the clock where all of Spain counts down to midnight on New Year's Eve, learn el reloj and el Oso y el Madroño, then ask a stranger ¿Me hace una foto, por favor? in front of the bear.
A culture tip explains las doce uvas, the twelve grapes eaten on the twelve chimes. One tap saves any phrase to your Review.

Try a local dish: chocolate con churros
Thick hot chocolate for dipping fried dough sticks. A few minutes' walk away, the Chocolatería San Ginés has served it since 1894. Madrileños have it for breakfast, as a merienda, or at dawn after a night out.
- Un chocolate con churros, por favor.
- Para tomar aquí. To have here.
- ¿Cuánto es? How much is it?
Map, route and arrival
Photo pins for every stop, the walking route and directions in Apple Maps. While a walk runs, Vamos notices when you reach a stop and opens its page. 75 sights in all, with photos and credits from Wikimedia Commons.
Snap a sight
Not sure what you're looking at? Take a photo. Vamos uses your location, compass and on-device image matching to tell you which sight it is. The photo never leaves your iPhone.
27 local dishes
Three per city, from chocolate con churros in Madrid to la gilda in San Sebastián and paella valenciana in Valencia: what it is, where locals eat it, and exactly how to order it.
Read or listen
Stories are narrated in your language, with the Spanish names in a Spanish voice. Each stop ends with a real-world challenge and a phrase to practise saying out loud.

Talk with a local
Practise real conversations out loud before you need them. Speak Spanish to a friendly cartoon character who answers in Castilian Spanish, with a voice, a translation and a gentle correction when something could sound more natural.
- 🍷 Order at a tapas bar with Javier
- 🛎️ Check in with Lucía in Sevilla
- 🚆 Buy a train ticket at Atocha
- 💊 Get help at a pharmacy
Two paces, slow and simple or natural. Stuck? Two or three ideas for what to say next are always one tap away. A summary at the end replays every correction.
